EMD  was founded by Richard Nowson in  Chicago in 1995.  EMD is now headquartered in northern Illinois in suburban Libertyville. 

Richard Nowson is a per-eminent expert on International Business. What sets Richard apart from other consultants is his broad business experience and cultural intelligence.

Many business issues result from expectations which are not apparent even to those involved.  Richard has a rare ability to understand and define the issues inherent in international business. 

It takes more that technical skills to make a significant contribution and Richard has that unique balance of so called left and right brain connectedness.  

History

The initial focus was initially on business consulting with emphasis on analysis and finance.  Towards the end of the last decade, we played a key roll in providing Y2K solutions to companies in Australia and the Chicagoland area.  In 2001 we formed a new practice area for Cross Cultural Consulting in response to the growth in both domestic M&A activity and Globalization. 

We know that in almost all assignments involving more than one geographic location, culture plays a major role. No one is better able to address those business challenges than EMD.
